Illustrative beauty training with a practical demonstration

Cosmetics & beauty

AZAV for
cosmetics & beauty.

From salon to education: skills with vocational value can form the basis of an additional training offer.

The business perspective

Teach practical expertise. Build a second business area.

A salon or beauty institute can pass on its expertise in a structured way: to new entrants or professionals with a specific training need. A convincing offer combines practical skills with hygiene, customer communication and a realistic vocational objective.

Who could this suit?

Beauty institutes, salons, suitable specialist trainers and vocational beauty academies.

Possible training offers

The following approaches are starting points for programme design, not pre-approved product packages.

  • Professional beauty skills with practical training
  • Client consultation and professional workflows
  • Business organisation in the beauty sector
  • Digital skills for salon management

The appropriate funding route

A suitable vocational continuing education programme can be assessed. Leisure courses or personal beauty interests do not establish a basis for funding.

Financial viability

Classify it correctly first.
Then calculate on a sound basis.

We do not apply a generic rate to this field. The relevant B-DKS entries or special entries and actual costs must be determined first.

Four questions before the figures

  1. What specific vocational objective does the course have?
  2. How many synchronous teaching units does it need?
  3. What group size and costs are realistic?
  4. What rate has actually been approved?

Useful questions

What you should know first.

Can I start as an individual?

A small organisation is possible in principle. What matters is demonstrable professional and teaching competence, reliability, suitable equipment, functioning quality management and a financially viable plan. A particular job title alone is not sufficient.

Does AZAV automatically bring me participants?

No. Approval, individual funding decisions and actual enrolment are separate steps. Demand, relationships with companies and a credible training offer need to be developed.

Can my company train its own employees and receive money for it?

Staff development and operating as a training provider are different roles. Internal training does not automatically generate fundable provider revenue. For your own or affiliated companies, funding eligibility, cost allocation and billing must be clarified with the Employer Service in advance. Mandatory training and purely operational inductions are not generally eligible under § 82.
