Illustrative one-to-one career guidance session

Health & social services

AZAV for
health, psychology & social services.

Supporting people who face complex barriers to employment: social and psychological expertise can make an important contribution here.

The business perspective

Strengthen employability. Respect professional boundaries.

Psychologists, social educators and suitably qualified counselling and therapy professionals may find a separate, non-therapeutic support offer relevant. The focus is on daily routines, orientation, social stability and appropriate referrals, insofar as these support employability.

Who could this suit?

Psychologists, social advice centres, suitable trainers, nutrition advisers, occupational and other therapists, and medical professionals with a separate education or support offer.

Possible training offers

The following approaches are starting points for programme design, not pre-approved product packages.

  • Holistic support to develop employability
  • Daily routines and career guidance
  • Support in accessing appropriate services
  • Work-related health literacy as a suitable programme module

The appropriate funding route

§ 16k SGB II has its own funding purpose and can be implemented through commissioning or a voucher. The specific model must be agreed with the responsible Jobcenter.

Useful questions

What you should know first.

Can I start as an individual?

A small organisation is possible in principle. What matters is demonstrable professional and teaching competence, reliability, suitable equipment, functioning quality management and a financially viable plan. A particular job title alone is not sufficient.

Does AZAV automatically bring me participants?

No. Approval, individual funding decisions and actual enrolment are separate steps. Demand, relationships with companies and a credible training offer need to be developed.

Are 200 teaching units always approved?

No. Duration must match the objective and individual need. On this website, 200 teaching units are only a scenario assumption. The voucher, commissioning terms, programme approval and services actually delivered determine the billable scope.
